Checking and reading cards using smart technology is an effective and secure way of ensuring a card is genuine. It is the most efficient way of confirming a cardholder's identity and ensuring they have the appropriate training and qualifications for the occupation they are undertaking.

To read physical cards using Checarda's PC software, you will need a suitable USB connected smartcard reader, installed with an appropriate driver. A selection of compatible readers can be obtained from Smartcard Focus. These readers typically cost around £50 + VAT. To read virtual cards you can use either a handheld QR code scanner or a webcam with the appropriate drivers.
